Greg,

I have a wagon. now has four wheel disc from a gti. nice 1.8 golf 8 valve engine mounted longitudinally. only wolsburgs came with 5-spd. but easy to convert early cars. no auto trans. available. i believe the wagon has the slightly bigger rear dums fromt he rabbit pick-up. fornt brakes are basic golf 9 inch solid rotors. easy to convert using components used on converting A1 vw cars. steering uses small spline just like A1 cars in case you want to update steering wheel. dash designed by giugiaro's (rabbit & scirocco designer) brother. nice looking but only average ergonomics.

difficult to get performance parts for. not popular with tuners and enthusiasts a like because tey are nose heavy. most of the engines weight is hung past the afront axle line. It's kinda like an old bug in reverse. it's a oversteering car but correctable.

glass sunroofs were available which looked like an afterthought. looks like an aftermarker add-on. came in 2-dr sedan, 4-dr sedan and 2dr wagon for north america.

resale value in northern california is very poor fo rthe sedans. not unusual to find a [erfect running example in reasonable good shape for about $500. Perfect examples as low as $1000. Wagons still going for $500-$2500 depending on condition. all wagons came with 4-spd as they were discontinued earlier. later models came with shoulder belts.

perfect intale manifold donor for vanagon inline-4 conversions.

anyway, too much fox info on the v-list. pamil me if you need more info.

BenT
