Juergen Gembler <info@vw-scout.de> in der Vaterland has fitted one, using a Porsche G50 trans. He understands Englisch but can't type it. He runs the vw-bus forum.

The stock trans is suspect even with stock power... either beef it with Aussie Albins gearset (you choose the ratios) and thicker Albins mainshaft, or better still toss it and fit a G50 or 915.
