Subject: Rattle is Killing Me!!!!!!

My 83.5 Water cooled westy has a problem. At cruising speed or when the engine is under a load there is this EXTREMELY annoying rattle that seems to be coming from under the rear bench. I have had a friend go back there while I was driving to try to pin point it, but could not. So it seems to be outside of the passenger compartment. The sound definitely travels up from under the rear bench because it is much louder when I leave that cabinet door under the seat open. It sound like a vibration caused rattle, definitely not an engine noise. Can anybody give me a few suggestions about how to find my culprit. PLEASE! HELP! THIS RATTLE IS DRIVING ME F**KING NUTS!!!!!!!
