well, that is what I ended up doing, just pulling them
out, breaking the platic forks that hold them in.  I
was stripping my 82 Westy down to be painted anyway,
so I was not so concerned with minor bending or nicks
in paint.  It was tough.  No access other then
removing the dash, best I can tell.  Does your blower
motor run?
