I'm having an authorized Volkswagen RV place do all the work. It took them 5 minutes to remove the tank.

I've gone back to the white color thanks to this group. Thank you all.

I am told by the authorized dealer repair service that Vanagon propane tanks are a special category and are lifetime certified.
