There are one black and two white wires. The whites are interchangeable so it's easy to figure out which goes where. Cut the factory plug off of the old sensor, a few inches from the plug. Cut the generic Ford plug off of the new sensor at about the same place. Splice the factory plug from the old sensor in place of the generic plug on the new one. As is typical on this list, if you ask three listmembers the best way to do this, you'll almost certainly get at least four conflicting opinions. You want a good connection that will also be relatively waterproof so your sensor doesn't ground out the first time you hit a mud puddle. Solder it. Or use one of several waterproof splicing connectors available very inexpensively at Home Depot, etc, which are designed for splicing outdoor electrical wiring. Just don't twist them together and cover them with duct tape. :-)
