Yes, but you see, there is continuity this way. I go to the archives and see the entire thread. If you changed the subject line, anybody jumping into your new subject will not know how the whole discussion got started and what led to it. If you want to go tangent to a present discussion, you can always make a new posting.

Recycling postings to post new topics have been notorious in the past at causing miscommunication. An author would frequently change only part of the subject line. next thing you know, we 10 postings asking what the heck that had to do with the price of eggs.
