Interesting thread. There are of course as has been pointed out benefits to both. Now the queen of the road for folks who like veteran motorhomes is of course the GMC.

Has even a more loyal and fanatic following than the Westfalia/Campmobile.

A nicely maintained 23' 1976 GMC will bring about 30K$.

An elegant design, both aesthetically and mechanically matched perhaps only by a nicely maintained Syncro Westie.

Fuel economy? If you have to worry about the slip fee, you can't afford the yacht.
