I would remove this rocker arm. It is an 11mm nut that holds it on and do not loose it. carefully remove that wire piece that retains the pushrods first. Now at this point there is no pressure at all on the valve stems. Do they line up the same on intake and exhaust on number one, or is number one sticking out further from the head? I f both are straigt, proceed to next step.

Then I would remove the pushrod. I would look down in there and see what is going on with a flashlight. My best luck in removing the lifter is to hook it with a seal puller, although sometimes a magnet pulls it right out. My guess is that you will see a lifter that has lost its snap ring and fell apart. Maybe not though.........It could be a collapsed valve seat meaning a new head........... If so, not the end of the world, either. I would sheck the strainer and see what sort of metal is in the screen before committing, though.

The hydrtaulics are the lifters...they pump up eith oil.

what other problems am i looking at in terms of damage to that > cylinder and other parts of the engine?

Tough to say without more info.
