There are a lot of these in Europe (no kidding eh!) and most have the MAN badge on the front of them with word / logo VW nowhere to be seen. You can't give the older (pre 1990s) away in Germany! I have seen quite a few on my previous trip, most suffering from a dead engine and / or transmission. I've been looking at these vehicles quite seriously for the "a VW that can tow something" value - well - 2500kg is the max that they will haul according to TüV, same as my Syncro... looks like I won't be getting any of these oversized monsters any time soon... perhaps a Unimog 416 or U1300 though!

I've also noticed a resemblance between the LT cabs and the Kenworth light- duty trucks: cube vans and delivery's and such. Same full-width grill and corner lights lower. At one time I thought I'd heard they were VW-built, but I could never confirm or deny.
