Angus ...My best guess is the Pinion bearing is going bye-bye...It is the most common issue after the 3/4 slider hub cracking with these tranny's. From my point of view, the sooner you deal with it the better due to the increased wear to the ring/pinion from the sloppy bearing...That and the fact that the 3/4 slider WILL go soon..It's their weak point, so be ready to do a rebuild soon ($995 from me). Even with Redline, they are getting tired at that mileage and need some TLC...Good Luck Daryl of AA Transaxle Duvall, WA.
