Subject: Re: Propane tank color-- need to knw ASAP
Content-Type: text/plain

About the Propane tank color, I believe it was a light color, which is standard on propane tanks to reflect heat and light, but with the VW tank under the van, not much heat or light gets to it, so I paint mine a dark color.

My BBQ tank says to certify it each 10 years, so I contacted Manchester Tank Co, which does the VW tank, and they said that only a DOT tank needs to be Re-certified.

The VW tank is a ASME tank. (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), and does NOT need to be re-certified.
