For the US markets:

A-1     Rabbit 75-84, Cabriolet 79-93, All Sciroccos
A-2     Jetta/Golf 85-92
A-3     Jetta/Golf 93-99, Cabrio 95-02
A-4     Jetta/Golf 99.5-02

Incidentally, I have found that the rear pads for All A-3 and later VWs
look to be the same ( I haven't matched up the EV ones yet).  I rarely
get to see core calipers (besides A-4).
