I'm afraid I wasn't clear on the focus of my posting. Many have concluded
it was about shippping the bumpers I'm looking for ... it's not. I used
these as, what turned out to be an ineffective example.
The thrust of my point was to suggest that perhaps we could harness the
power of this incredible community to help each other transport parts to
one another. When it may not be cost effective to ship them via our beloved
UPS, USPS or whatever.
Case in point ..... I would be willing to travel at least 200 miles in any
direction (check that, the Ocean is only 20 miles away to the West ....
don't have snorkel setup).Thus I would go East, North or South at least 200
miles from the San Fran Bay area to contibute one leg of a potential "Hand
Off".
And as many of you have already done, if I'm heading anywhere on a trip and
have room, I'll annouce it to the group ahead of time and would be willing
to pick up or hand off anything I can carry.
Hope this clarifies my intent.
