I use a thin brass tube that is adapted to go in a 3 oz hand held grease
gun and just slip it between the axle and the boot with the clamp
removed. The thin tube is about the same diameter as 1/8" copper line but
is brass and has a thinner wall so the grease will flow. If you use 3 oz
grease tubes.. put one whole tube in there.
Sand is an extraordinary situation..... ask Romel.
You could have had sand in the joints with perfect boots and no holes.
