There were two different companies that made ECUs for the Vanagon during a few years in the 86-88 range. Bosch and Triumph Adler. The Bus Depot probably has two different part numbers just to be sure that if you have a TA unit they get a TA unit back as a core and you get a rebuilt TA unit. Same goes for Bosch. Any ECU from 86-91 will fit and work and are interchangeable (TA for Bosch, 022 and 022D). Just FYI. I have put TA unit in my 90 GL with no problem (originally had the 022D Bosch unit). Also put the 022D into the 86 van I had at one time. Again no problem.

I have rebuilt Digifant ECUs ready to ship for $200 (again FYI). I don't charge a core charge up front either, I just ask that you return your core within 30 days. These ECUs come with a one year warranty.
