Subject:      Fan belt tightening-- When to do it?

I'm going to try to tighten my fan belts today. Those of you with experience
please tell me when is the best time to tighten fan belts. When the engine
and fan belt is hot, or cold? My belt squeaks when hot but not when cold.


Getting rid of that fan belt squeak is kind of like trying to get rid of
this off topic stuff. I know I've contributed but I agree it is not fair to
continue because those coming here for information usually do not have the
time to wade through all this unnecessary junk. I will do my best in future
to just delete and not add to the problem.


There are people coming here to solve problems who have just enough time to
get in and out and need information. I an wait for Friday for fun stuff.


Adjusting fan belts. Hot or cold? Or does it matter?
