<P>Pull the starter and check the starter motor teeth and the flywheel teeth. I think(????) if the solanoid was bad it would not even spin. If I am wrong someone will correct me! But I know busted teeth will cause this, and you will be pulling the starter anyways if it is a possible solanoid. Good luck</P>

<DIV></DIV>>that the starter turns but doesn't engage. Everything seems to work except
<DIV></DIV>>it doesn't engage. This started happening when the temperature started
<DIV></DIV>>getting down in the 40s and lower. The starter was last replaced in 1996
<DIV></DIV>>for what then probably wasn't a starter problem. I seem to remember some of
<DIV></DIV>>the list members talking about greese hanging things up in the starter. How
<DIV></DIV>>is the best way to go about checking this? Is there a certain part that is
<DIV></DIV>>at fault? Hard greese? Is it easy to clean out and what greese should be
<DIV></DIV>>used (Moly with graphite in it versis other types)?
