Subject: Tightening fan belts and using lithium grease sparay

I just tightened my loose AC fan belt. Thanks to one list member who told me which bolts to make loose and how to do it I did not have to look it up or figure it out. What an easy task it was. I did one more thing a list member suggested and lightly used fine sandpaper on the pulleys. I learned quickly to be very careful about that.

After the belt was tightened the engine and belt sounds were sweet. I thought it was perfect but did one more thing my mechanic Fred suggested. I was going to use brake fluid to wipe on the belts (suggested by another member) but had already bought the lithium grease spray so I sprayed all the belts while they were spinning. The sound improvement that I thought was perfect and sweet improved so dramatically that those belts now hum with an almost silent whisper.

How sweet it is.

When I get to replacing the belts I intend to install the alternator "geared adjuster bracket" which another list member suggested.

Thank you all for helping educate me in the self maintenance of this beautiful vehicle.

William
