In my experience it is always better to resist the fast fix and solder the
best repair possible, ESPECIALLY in the hard to get at areas that discourage
such repair and tempt us to do the easy solution.

It is vital to think of the future and what might happen when moisture or
corrosion will inevitably happen.

The question is this: You have the thing apart now. Do you want to go
through all the effort again later to disassemble and do it right later?

Do the best job once. It costs les an takes less time than redoing it later.
