Randy,

I don't exactly remember how that thing came out but just rip it out anyway you can. I went down to the auto parts store after I pulled out the 'plastic mistake' and sized it up to a brass heater core that somewhat matched it. Next, I secured it into the rear area and put a shut-off swich on the inlet hose. Place and secure the fan behind it and put the cover over the whole schebang. Your done!
