It should have been clarified earlier that you actually do not need to install a Syncro tranny. What you actually need to do is get the case from a Syncro trans with the locking diff. Then install your transmission in that case along with the hardware for actuating the locker. Earlier this year I bought such a set-up for $150 less the vacuum parts.

There was a discussion about using a Quaife last year. They can do limited runs but there would be a minimum order IIRC. Cost would at about the price of installing a Syncro locker.
