When I drove from Cairo to Amsterdam last summer I took: Extra coolant, oil, oil and fuel filters, distributor, fuel pump, points - plugs - condenser, spare alternator & belts, Tire puncture kits, full tool kit. I used NONE of it. What I did not take is an extra coolant pump, What broke??? the coolant pump!!! (in Turkey). Law of spare parts: Whatever you take, will NOT break, conversely: What you do NOT take, will break. I suggest that you set up an account with ALL of the list vendors and set up a web-phone account ( I use www.iconnecthere.com) and web email (Hotmail.com) so that you can send HELP! messages to vendors to get the parts FEDEXed to you wherever you are. Any economy on getting the van fixed for the trip is FALSE economy. Spend the extra $1,000 rather than be stranded for a week of your vacation on the road in some "god-forsaken" place where you do NOT want to be. Also purchase and install Darrell's (spell?) digitool so that you can see the electrical problem before it goes wrong. m2cw, Malcolm
