I have been trying to diagnose why my front windshield washer fluid squirter motor will not work. I took out the motor and tried to put 12 volts to it directly from the battery (also grounded to the battery) - nothing!! My rear window washer fluid squirter motor works, so I took it out (hoping to swap motors - no luck, pins are different) and when I put 12 volts directly to that motor - NOTHING either!!! I re-installed the rear motor and it works fine through the steering column lever switch. I have had the same situation with my horn - 12 volts directly - no horn-beeb, install the horn through the van's wiring harness - horn works. ALL three times I put 12 volts directly from the battery and grounded the 12V motor to the battery. I also reversed the + & - sides. So what am I missing here. I'm not stupid (Ph.D.) but I know LITTLE about electricity. Can someone help me??? What am I missing here??? Malcolm |
