I am in the process of buying a 2000 Eurovan Camper with 64k miles that is in Port Washington NY (on Long Island). I live in Valley Forge PA (20 miles NW of Philadelphia). I would like to pick it up this week.

I need names of some reliable VW mechanics to do an inspection prior to buying the van. Close to Port Washington would be desireable as I do not know the area.

Any one have a suggestion for a mechanic? And anyone with a suggestion of EVC problem area that should be looked at after 64k miles or with the VR6 is welcomed to highlight that, as well.

Please email me privately.

I will soon be selling my 84 Wolfsburg Westfalia GL Camper Brown/Beige, with 107k on body and 40k on VW replaced engine. Has AM/FM CD, CB Radio, 4 speed, AC works, all camping appliances work, side awning with drop down bug netting, microwave and middle 2 person bench seat and spare parts. Wonderful upholstery, no dents, Great van.

-- Sincerely, Ed Stevens Valley Forge PA
