Steve Sullivan asked in his post (Which one is number one?) about the firing order. Many have said that it is NOT covered in Bentley. In my Bentley (up to 1991) in the Appendix at the rear (last few pages) of Bentley's book, on page #27 under Technical Data, it gives the firing order and a picture of the engine with the cylinders labelled. In John Muir's book, look on page 97 for a drawing of the engine with cylinders labels. Fire order is 1-4-3-2 Front of engine/van/tranny side cylinder 3 cylinder 1 cylinder 4 cylinder 2 Rear of engine/van Remember that the distributor (at least my bosh 009) goes counter clockwise: 1-4-3-2 fire order. Hope that this helps. Malcolm |
