Problem: Have neither the time nor patience to remove all the dash & stuff to replace it properly. Radical idea: Cut an "access panel" right in the top of the aluminum surface of the dash board, basically right where the ash tray and factory speaker live. Con-fab a way to open and close this panel, thus giving me easy access to ALL the stuff that is hiding below the dash. I guess the first question is: With such an opening, would it even be possible to get to the blower motor from above? Putting all aesthetics out of mind (I can hide the panel with a creative dash covering), what do you guys think about this hare-brained scheme?
