In Mexico the border officials except most Tequilla brands, travelors checks, girlfriends, or your 4X4 as payment for "Theft Insurance"

But seriously, It helps not to advertise that you have a laptop so use it as covert and stealth-like as possible.

The movie "Traffic" is ALL REAL.....i lived within 20 minutes of the Tijuana/USA border, had many of friends get ripped off there, it doesnt get safe untill south of Ensenada. GET INSURANCE AT THE BORDER! ITS WORTH IT.
