Well, on my '90 GTi Digifant II 1.8 L 8V conversion in a '82 Westfalia and original DZ trans with 215/75x15 tires, 100 mph comes up right around 6300 rpm. Been there done that. Front end feels very light. Very crosswind sensitive. If maintained for at least 15 to 20 minutes, this is often referred to as an Italian tune-up. If you add about 32 fluid ounces of Techtron Fuel Injector Cleaner to 24 gallons of premium, it becomes an Italian Royal Tune-up. (modeled on the Kir Royal)! (other details: less than 1 inch of manifold vacuum, oil temperature of 232 F, exhaust gas temperature of 720 C, cylinder head temperature of 82 C, oil pressure 42 psi, ambient temperature 71 F, mean elevation 1200 feet above sea level, A/F ratio meter shows open loop operation at about 13.4:1).
