Tee-hee...if you really want to get into it, take a little cruise by http://www.amplepower.com/ and see what the serious folks are doing. You may end up with a $300 voltage regulator to go with your other goodies.

Seriously, battery management is a subject that's as deep as you're willing to go, in both study and money. If you want the minimum solution, go with Bus Depot's relay kit and be happy. If you want maximum availability for extended dry camping, do your homework and expect to drop something under $1000 for regulator, monitoring gear, house battery(s) etc. In between -- learn as much as suits your comfort level and apply the solution that seems right to you.

Ultimately you're responsible for getting a system together that's both safe and satisfies your needs. :)
