Subject: Cool air, K+N, and chips(was: Tiico convert question)

I agree with the benefits of cooler and cleaner air to the intake. That little rectangular trumpet on the supplied snorkel just seems a bit small to me, compared with the size of the actual intake hole on the canister. My feeling, reinforced by the mention in the Tiico instructions, is that they made it this small in the interest of noise reduction.

I'm going to leave it off and may run a hose of larger diameter up into the ventilated compartment. I believe that on a small bore engine, that any improvements on either the intake side or the exhaust side are helpful.

I would like a K+N filter, not only because it flows better, but because it will be the only air filter I'll need to buy for the life of the vehicle. Instead of using something disposable, I'd rather clean the K+N at regular intervals.

On the subject of computer chips, I recall someone mentioning a while back that they were looking into them as an option for a Tiico upgrade. Did that ever happen?

Also, any recommendatons on what adjustable fuel regulator to use and where they can be found?

Thanks.
