What viscosity oil did you use? The buzzer means you you don't have
enough pressure for sensor #2 (.8 bar) at 2000 rpm. You may also have a
sensor-wiring problem.

Subject: Oil light on!!
Volks,
'91 Carat, 2.1L engine 150k. I bought the van a month or so ago
and
replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, filters, changed to sythetic oil
and
drained the cooling system and refilled it. First time driving it after
all
that, it overheated. I was only four blocks from home and turned both
heaters on. That cooled down the engine enough to get the blinking red
light off and drive home. As soon as I got home and turned the engine
OFF,
the radiator cooling fan turned ON. I thought that was strange, but
didn't
worry about it. The next day I re-bled the cooling system and got that
last
pocket of air out. NO problems for about a month.
Until Wednesday. My wife was out shopping with the van and left it
running
in a parking lot for 15 minutes. She got back in the van and drove about
10
feet and the temp light started blinking. Then a buzzer started, and she
says that there was no oil light on. She turned the van off for about 5
minutes, then started it again. The temps went up again and this time
the
buzzer sounded and the oil light turned on. She immediately pulled over
and
shut the van off. She called me and told me what was going on. By this
time
about 15 minutes had passed since she had been sitting with the engine
off.
She waited another 15 minutes and after I explained to her how to turn
on
the heat and check the oil (it was full), she started the van, turned
the
heat on and drove about two miles to her mother's house. No overheating,
no
buzzer, no oil light. The entire time the radiator fan did not come on.
Then we went out last night in the van, and after being in stop and go
traffic for about 20 minutes, the temps started to rise, but this time
the
radiator fan turned on and dropped them down. Then, for no apparent
reason,
a buzzer sounded and the oil light turned on. I immediately shifted into
neutral, turned the engine off and coasted to the side of the road. I
waited 2 minutes and started the engine. No buzzer, no light, no high
temps, oil level was fine. Drove it home no problem.
WHAT IS GOING ON? Also, is the buzzer connected to the oil light? If
not,
what is it for? Why does my radiator fan seem to be coming on only
sometimes?
Thanks for your help.
