Joe; Always suspect the TEMPII sensor. They fail relatively often. I am on my second or third on both our WBXs. Just replace it. It is cheap and easy. If it does not fix the problem then you have a spare. The next most likely problem is the idle position sensor. Easy to test. Just have someone work the gas ,with engine off. You should hear some distinct clicking made by the switch opening and closing. Another slight possibility, which we experienced on our 85, is the advance mechanism in the distributor jamming. This was also the result of a sudden, clutch related stall. Thorough cleaning and lubricating of the works fixed the problem. Hey! How many people put a few drops of oil on the felt button below the rotor of these mechanically advanced units?
