I Agree. My 88 waterboxer started by spewing about 8 oz of coolant out of
the coolant add reservoir when I would stop and shut off the vehicle. This
kept up for about a year (hey, it kept running great). It ended up with a
fully blown head in Bethlehem, PA. The fix was a new motor (also had a
broken motor mount- who knew) new water pump, hoses and various assorted
accoutrements.
Get the headgaskets checked.
