chris, i have an 84 weekender and an 86 syncro westy. The ride is, as far as i can tell, the same. But i also don't have that pesky vibration that some syncro owners have. The 84 turns really easy, as opposed to the syncro. the 84 has all new boge shocks, where the syncro only has new ones in front (need rear ones soon).
