I have a 5spd trans from Weddle connected to my TiiCo conversion. Don't know if it's an 094 or not, but I doubt it. The dogleg first gear does take some getting used to, but it's a natural now. First is a tad on the low side, but you're not going to get autobahn gearing in 2 ton vehicle propelled by a 2.0 liter engine. What makes this trans shine is the "close ratio" aspect. With one more gear, the rpm drop between gears is greatly reduced. You don't fall out of the engine's power band. Similar to my 16V Jetta, the gearing sounds almost like a motorcycle as you accelerate. I don't think that the 5spd being sold by Chris Weddle is the same as the one that came in the diesel. He sources them in Europe and a 48 hp diesel requires a lot less from a tranny than 100+ hp waterboxer or TiiCo. If mine started life behind a diesel it would be so much shrapnel by now. Gary
