Not true of all VW dealers everywhere fortunately. Like everything else you have to shop around. I found two dealers in the San Diego area (Herman Cook VW in Encinitas and City Chevy/VW in San Diego) who were excellent with Vanagons. Both literally saved me thousands in money and more in grief. Just do your due diligence and buyer beware. Ask questions of those who will work on your baby.
