Mike: I recently installed KYB's on the front and rear of my '87 GL. The install went smoothly and was the easiest shock replacement job I've ever done. They ride nice but I did have one problem. After installing the front shocks I was getting a thump/rattle noise from the front shocks. It turned out to be that the top rubber mount supplied with the KYB's is a lot softer than the original rubber pads. I removed the new ones and replaced them with the original VW rubber mount and the original VW cupped top-washer and the rattle/thump went away. Hasn't come back yet either. Has anyone installed the KYB gas adjust shocks, front or rear? I'd appreciate your feedback. TIA, Mike Mike Hugill Principal Recruiter Evergreen Group, Inc. P.O. Box 536 Garrett Park, MD. 20896 (301) 942-8168 mike@evergreengroupinc.com www.evergreengroupinc.com YahooIM: evergreengroupinc |
