Here are the instructions I have used with success:

ETKA V5 & V5.3 VW, Audi & Skoda Parts CD Installation Instructions

*ETKA V5 - All European Volkswagen & Audi models 1947~1998 *ETKA V5.3-All North American Volkswagen, Audi & Skoda models 1947~2001

*The ETKA programs will run only in 1280 x 1024 resolution on a 17" monitor. You must set your display to this before trying to install. You may be able to use a program called Virtual Desktop to run the ETKA programs on systems without 17" monitors and 1280 x 1024 resolution.

1. After inserting the CD in your CD-ROM drive, open the drive using Explorer or My Computer (CD doesn't have autostart). 2. Once there you will see a bunch of folders and 2 executables. Run the one marked Hardlock first (I tried running setup with running hardlock and it errored out halfway through). You will not see Hardlock do anything on the screen after running it. 3. After running Hardlock, run the other executable. It is the setup program for the EPC. 4. Once in the setup program, choose the language you want to use for the install. 5. The next screen should have a list of install options. If you leave the first option checked, it will have the minimum HDD impact (70Mb), but you will need to have the CD in every time you want to use the software. If you check one of the other install options, you must uncheck CD install. The other options will install the entirety of the parts catalog onto your HDD (approx. 350MB. I used CD install and it works fine.) 6. When it gets most of the way through the setup program an error will appear to the effect of "Another copy of the program is currently running, please shut it down." (or something like that) Hit cancel to the error message. It will tell you that the install is complete. 7. Have Fun!! ==== Windows 2000 tips: http://www.humanspeakers.com/audi/xxxx.htm Do a full install on the C: drive, then 1) copy everything EXCEPT the *.INI files from the CD's ET_PROG.NT4 directory to the C:\ET_PROG directory 2) copy LEXHDL5.DLL from the CD's ET_PROG.W95 directory to the C:\ET_PROG directory This should work for the CD Installation as well. It appears the problem is that the Family Album thinks W2K is W95, when it is not. This is the fix.
