Howdy. Just got my water pump replaced by local VW mechanic. Needle on coolant used to read in middle of LED. Now needle reads below LED. Think that there was some air in coolant. Plus, older H2O pump with gaps and leaks can't pump as much coolant as new pump due to wear. My pump was 190K old and leaking from weep hole. Runs much better now. My Panzerkampingwagen seems much happier now. Mechanic put on new PS and Gen/H2O pump belts. Also installed new heater cable as heater was stuck in full on position. Good in winter, but when it got stuck on full heat in Kechi Kansas at 112 degrees it was a nightmare. Ordered SA lower grill from bus despot. Looks so much better than stock grill. Total bill for H2O pump, installation, heater cable install, belt install and replacement of some broken H2O bolts was $285.00. Took him 5 hours to replace H2O pump as bolts were broken/siezed. I'm getting ready to take hippievan on up to 1,500 mile journey in anticipation of relocation for a new job. (Laid off as Boeing Engineer) What do people suggest I do in preperation? Mechanic seemed to feel everything looked OK. Ass end is sagging by about 2" Should I look in to air springs or replace springs? If replace springs, what's a good source for springs?
