I had the same problem; but only when warmed up. I changed the broken J-pipe and O2 sensor - runs like a champ again..

My 84 has completely sporadic problem. It shuts off going down the road. It usually kicks back in before I have to pull over. It happens cold or hot. I have the idle stabilizer bypassed. If I connect the idle stabilizer the 84 will almost always stop and not want to start again. I can always get it started

again it just takes about 15 minutes of waiting in the worst case. I have cleaned up the grounds I could find. I saw a post to change the temp II sensor. I have one on order now. I changed the plastic part of the ignition switch. I checked the adjustment of the throttle switches. I swapped out the ECU with a known good ECU. Thanks to VanAgain, Bus Depot and Rocky Mountain. I have the bentley CD and finally figured out to print the pages "as they appear" in the printer options. Any idea's?
