Morning;

I work with a local shop here to build these new driveshafts - they are all new material and not a collection of old shafts and tractor parts! If there are no modifications to your OEM flanges on the front differential or transaxle they bolt in just like the original. The shafts are fitted with American made Spicer U-Joints (larger journals than the OEM VW U-Joints - used in 5.0L Mustangs) and a Spicer slider joint which replaces the rubber "weebeau" joint in the OEM driveshaft, the slider makes the installation easier than the original. The driveshafts are balanced to racing standards and rated at 5700 RPM. Both the Slider and U-Joints are fitted with grease fittings - something the original doesn't have - and if properly cared for should last much longer than the OEM VW joints do. I have replace the OEM shaft in my Syncro twice and they seem to last about 80,000 miles - these should go much longer and if they have to be repaired you can get replacements for $15 or less rather than the $60 VW wants for theirs. The driveshafts also fit American balancing equipment and most shops can re-balance if necessary.

Winter driving conditions will be the same for these as for the original, just make sure they are greased every time you change the oil or more often if you feel like a little exercise under the ol' van. I will guarantee satisfaction with the shaft - if you have problems with the installation or have any performance issues, I will refund your purchase price. I have several out right now with very positive feedback from everyone. They fit, and perform as advertised.

Thanks for your interest, best wishes for the holidays;

Larry
