I'm running a temp gauge and sender from an 87 Audi 5000, the sender mounts in the oil pressure port on the bottom side of my type IV Engine. I've also tried the sump plate sender and get about the same temps. I run an oil cooler inside of engine compartment. PIC http://williamwareagency.com/forsale/stanvan/83cooler1.jpg
