hi all,

I have a vanagon westy for sale. Located in Saint louis MO USA.

Pictures at:

http://westfailure.net/gallery/83westy

It turns over & everything, but i cant get it to run :( now, i probably could if i wanted to work on it, but i've never been a fan of type4 motors, and have other projects that i'd prefer to spend my time on...

Some details: * its the last year of the aircooled, 83.5 went to the wasserboxer * tourist delivery, all receipts included. (including 2 toursit delivery handbooks!) * no rust!! spent its life in Florida and New orleans until i got it. * its the deluxe interior with all the stoves etc. has both tables, ice trays, footstool etc. etc. * 8k miles (or so) on a rebuilt AVP motor, but wont run.... the valves were misadjusted horribly (6+ turns of preload) thought that would fix it, but it didnt, so i give up. * Just in case the AVP rebuild is toast i am including an 89k mile vanagon engine out of a 80 vanagon. #3 doesnt adjust right, so my plan was if i couldnt fix the AVP motor to put the AVP heads on the known good bottom end/jugs and go go go. (have receipts from AVP) * all emissions equipment is intact & there, many fuel injection components (resistor pack etc) recently replaced. * Low mileage rebuilt transaxle (have receipts) * have title

The bad stuff: * Many dents, most are small parking lot stuff, fixable but will take a little doing. * Doesnt run, but can be made to with what is included for very little extra $$$

Well, thats about it. I'd like to get $1,400 and will entertain offers, but if it gets below 1k i'll probably be inclined to put it on e-barf & let the market set the price. I truly believe there is nothing to buy to get it going, just labor i'd rather not invest... but as it is an older car, it is sold as is with no gurantees expressed or implied.

Any questions? feel free to ask.

thanks,

Steve
