Combustion gasses are probably getting into the cooling system. Bad seal where the head meets the cylinders or a cracked head. A leak down test should reveal the culprit.

Hi Again, Just to recap and try to not bore you with all the details let me start by saying I have been back to the dealer six times trying to resolve the coolant system problem that is plaguing me...in the process I have a new H flange, new radiator, new radiator sensor, new fan switch, new coolant reservoir sensor, new battery (due to the fools not replacing the sensor on the new radiator and causing the fan to run continuously till it killed my battery), new switch that goes on the engine near the reservoir, and a new thermostat, the system has been bled repeatedly...The problem is persisting. Something is forcing the coolant back into the reservoir and then into the overflow tank...after driving on the freeway and then coming to a stoplight and idling the temp gauge starts rising...the engine is getting too hot...when I look in back the overflow tank is completely full and the coolant is bubbling on top...can anyone help me discover what this might be? This dealership is supposed to be good and the independent shops in our town are both ripoff artists. Thank you in advance for any helpful advice. Rick 85 Westie 2.1 upgrade
