its a '84 wolfsburg edition westy. they came with the power steering, tach, upgraded GL interior, etc one year early. they were always 2 tone brown, and had the rare middle seat floor tracks w/ either the 2 person bench middle seat or rarer single swival middle seat on lockbox. sounds like your van had the dreaded 3/4 gear hub slider crack problem.. chris
