I used the stock Federal Exhaust system for six years (swapped out a few
parts from donors but stock), I recently installed a S&S exhaust system
with equal length header pipes, a small ugly muffler and my engine runs
smoother, has more power and opened up a big space in the muffler
mounting area that allows better air flow and it resulted in lower engine
temp. Its only slightly louder than stock but I still get the condensate
drip without the Catalytic converter.
All in all a good buy at $120.00 but I'm holding onto the OEM system just
in case I have to have them to pass inspection. My vehicle is inspected
in an area that does not require the tailpipe sucker but in many
situations the inspection station still demands that it have all of the
original EGR parts installed whether they function or not.
