Subject: Thanks - Re: Advice on 1984 Westy

I want to thank all who responded to my post.

Well I lost another good deal. Mike Miller pointed me to the seller, thanks Mike, and I called the seller quickly. Everything seemed to be going well and the seller was supposed to call me today aftr he picked it up from the dealer. Well one of the mechanics at the dealer offered him $200 and he took it. This would have been the perfect purchase for me at this time though there is a reason for everything, I guess. The mechanic that purchased the Westy does this a lot and it is starting to get old. Seems as though he grabs most of the illing Westies in this area. Ben T, this is the same guy that was at the Bug-O-Rama with the '87 Westy. The other sad thing is, although no relative, this guy shares my last name, Olmstead. I can't get a break on a good deal and my name is swiping them from me :) Ben, Todd Olmstead had sold the '87 Westy and had it returned and now he still has it. Seems you were correct with your analysis of this Westy. Enough of the whining and back to looking for another good deal on a Westy.
