Subject:      heater control knob

The knob on the end of the heater control lever broke off yesterday. This is
the 2nd lever down, turning heat on and off. Is the piece remaining in the
car supposed to pull right off the metal slider? I tried to pull it with
some pliers without any luck, do I just need to try harder?
