So I've got this German-made, cherry red tricycle to assemble for a 21-month-old. You'd think a Vanagon would prepare me for this, but actually it seems deceptively simple, and I'm afraid I haven't complicated things just right yet. The headset clamp has a nylon bushing nut; given the rigors of in-house maneuvering, should this bolt also get thread locker?

As this is her first vehicle, is there an accessory that we just can't leave off? Sippy cup holder?

Just wondering. Can't wait to give her the Karmann Ghia in 15 years.

Ed Carroll
